Position Description: • Guide the Reproductive & Women’s Health team in the selection, evaluation, and implementation of evidence-based practices related to reproductive & women’s health (current priorities relate to improving HPV vaccine uptake, decreasing barriers to effective contraception) • Serve as Medical Director for the State Title X Family Planning Program • Serve as medical consultant for cases in the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program • Oversee development of clinical policies related to family planning and women’s health services in local health departments • Assist the team in finding and understanding information from the peer- reviewed literature and incorporating this information into program efforts • Assist with preparation and review of grant reports and applications for Title X Family Planning (HHS), Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (CDC), Breast Cancer Screening (Komen) and new funding opportunities that may arise • Assure that materials used in Family Planning, Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program, and Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention programs are medically accurate • Provide clinical consultation, training and technical assistance to local and regional health department staff working in Family Planning, Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program, and Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention programs • Oversee development and implementation of strategies related to Maternal & Women’s Health for the Maternal and Child Health Block grant • Participate in the monthly Maternity Workgroup meeting (collaboration with Department of Health, Medicaid, and Medicaid managed care organizations) • Represent FHW at TDH Medical Leadership team meetings as needed • Present to local, regional, state, and national groups as requested on topics relevant to section work • Develop and implement prevention recommendations from the state Maternal Mortality Review Committee • Work in collaboration with the Perinatal Advisory Committee to revise regionalization guidelines as needed • Work with facilities and providers across the state to implement best practice in the care of mothers and infants • Work may also involve the state newborn screening program depending on the background of the interested candidate

Qualifications: • OB/Gyn, Family Medicine, Med/Peds, or Preventive Medicine • Experience in family planning and women’s preventive health • Experience in perinatal regionalization systems of care
