Position Description: The Statistical Analyst will provide analytical support on multiple research projects that have a focus on behavioral economics and global health. The projects, led by Dr. Thirumurthy, include randomized trials as well as secondary data analyses. These projects include two HIV research studies in Kenya and South Africa for which data come from household surveys as well as laboratory measures of clinical outcomes.

Candidates must have a background in public health with a focus on international health, significant training in economics or epidemiology, with an interest in HIV research. The Statistical Analyst will ideally use STATA for creating analytical datasets from clinical trials and health surveys, constructing and standardizing outcome measures as part of data cleaning and manipulation, and performing descriptive analyses as well as regression analyses. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are needed to support multiple projects led by Dr. Thirumurthy. Critical thinking, ability to problem solve independently, and strong communication skills are also needed. Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: Statistical Analyst A: The minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Math/Statistics, Healthcare Management, Economics or Public Health, preferred and at least 1 year of related experience preferred. Experience in applying health services research methods through STATA (or SAS) programming is required. Prior experience analyzing survey data is required and work on randomized trials is preferred. Statistical programming skills are required. Prior work experience in academic research or research setting in health care is required. Prior experience with analyzing clinical trials is required. Experience working in Global/ Public Health, Economics, or HIV research is preferred.
