Position Description: As part of the Biostatistics Core,

* Supports the planning of research projects. Implements and performs statistical analysis for data generated from research projects. Organizes and manages clinical, basic science and other databases.

* Generates reports and participates in publication of research findings and grant writing.

* Performs quality assurance of data collected.

* Provides biostatistical education and training to staff, students and faculty.

Qualifications: A. Education/Training: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field.

B. Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in data programming and analyses, with demonstrated increasing professional maturity. Experience in interacting with multiple research investigators, and providing statistical support. In-depth experience with the statistical program.

C. Knowledge: Experience and a background in the use of advanced biostatistical techniques applicable to biomedical research. Excellent knowledge and skills of either R or SAS, and at least one (1) other statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA, etc.).

D. Abilities and Skills: Ability to plan and organize assigned activities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to participate in the publication of research findings and grant writing. Must have excellent critical thinking, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

E. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience and project management experience. Experience working in a medical center setting or familiar with medical terminology. Biostatistical consulting experience.
