Position Description: This positions leads, manages, and supervises the staff of the Substance Abuse Epidemiology Section, which is in the Epidemiology and Response Division, and focuses on drug and alcohol overdose and misuse in NM. It develops, plans and coordinates studies on these public health issues, assuring that epidemiologist staff develop and analyze data, conduct studies and prepare and disseminate reports related to drug overdose and alcohol misuse and their prevention. It assures that employees in the Section conduct ongoing surveillance and present, disseminate, and publish data and reports and publications including periodic state-level and national-level rep reports and that they continually improve the their abilities as epidemiologists, inc including presenting at national meetings. It It also manages activities and consultation dem demands in the SAE Section and assures tim timely responses, providing that the staff wor work in an integrated manner both within the Sec Section and with other organizations to con conduct surveillance of substance abuse inj injury and its consequences in NM and rec recommend effective interventions. This job ent entails leadership, management, and sup supervision, both direct and indirect, for app approximately six epidemiologist positions, inc including assignment and review of work pro products, and also functions as a working epi epidemiologist.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Epidem Epidemiology, Sciences, Social Sciences, or Statis Statistics and two (2) years of experience in Pub in Public Health to include data analysis and li and linking methodology.
