Consultation and Education • Develops and conducts various trainings related to epidemiological and program evaluation-related issues. • Provides consultation and assistance t to educate state and local health s stakeholders in the development of s surveillance systems. • Provides technical assistance on i issues regarding surveillance, i interventions, epidemiologic, program e evaluation, statistical analysis, and data i interpretation. • Provides data and analysis to support support disease prevention and health promoti promotion programs and public policy present presentations. Qualifications: Required Minimum Education and Experience: • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, S Statistics, or a closely related degree. • Three years of job related e experience in epidemiology. • Experience in managing large complex d data sets preferred. • Prior epidemiology experience with billing or diagnostic coding (e.g., ICD-10-CM) highly desirable.

This position is located in the Office of Epidemiology and Scientific Support at the Public Health & Safety Division. The Epidemiologist studies the occurrence of disease and other health-related conditions or events in defined populations in order to implement prevention and control measures. This position is responsible for managing and analyzing the Montana Hospital Discharge Data System and provides epidemiology support to public health programs throughout the Division. Responsibilities include: 1) Analyzing surveillance data such as health indicators, risk factors, and disease surveillance information; 2) Analyzes programmatic and service-related data; 3) De Design, coordinate, and manage special su surveillance or evaluation procedures where th there is no other existing data available; 4) 4) Develops and conducts various trainings re related to epidemiological and program ev evaluation issues; and 5) Designs and co conducts program evaluations.
