Position Description: KDH Research & Communication (KDHRC), a public health and public policy research institution in Midtown Atlanta, seeks a Health Communications Supervisor to support our contributions to a National Youth Anti-Tobacco media campaign. The RAI position is a supervisory position for a staffer with 2 - 3 years experience in tobacco control or health communications. The Health Communications Supervisor will complete the following tasks: •Working with a team to craft and review scientifically rigorous and engaging messages and document the scientific support for each communication •Contributing to the design and execution of internal research projects such as focus groups and copytesting •Comprehending and communicate complex, scientific information in a clear, concise, and tailored manner to stakeholders • Providing high quality client service for a high-visibility project with quick deadlines and shifting priorities •Supervising research assistants working on the project

The researcher will also support other KDHRC project and proposal efforts. •Gathering information and preparing materials for inclusion in public health programs, reports, and papers. These materials may include project reports, evaluation materials such as focus group guides, surveys, protocols, and public health products, such as curricula, training guides, and websites. •Summarizing research results; prepare reports for submission and papers for publication; may present results to clients or at conferences. •Conceptualizing, researching, and writing proposals. •Identifying and pursuing new partnerships for project or proposal development. Meet with prospective clients to promote KDHRC’s services.


•Exceptional attention to detail and precision with scientific concepts •Ability to multitask under strict deadlines and reprioritize as necessary in a fast?paced environment •Ability to analyze multiple strands of information and synthesize them to develop concrete and justifiable recommendations on project management issues •Strong writing and verbal skills to communicate clearly and professionally with internal staffers and external vendors •Ability to engage, lead, and present to and on behalf of campaign stakeholders •Strong interpersonal skills that build team performance and contribute positively to our corporate culture •Strong analytic, problem?solving, and decision?making capabilities •Ability to meaningfully supervise and mentor more junior staff


Qualifications for this position include: •Masters in public health, public policy, psychology, economics, or a related social science field, or equivalent experience in a research organization similar to KDHRC •Two to three years of post-Masters experience •Excellent writing abilities and analytic skills
