Position Description: The CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a full time Marketing and Education Consultant to support the CDC. This is a full-time 40-hour-per-week position. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and engaging the leadership and front-line providers of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies in order to improve data reporting, especially with respect to the accurate and consistent documentation of opioid overdose and naloxone administration. The candidate will provide curriculum development; training; market/audience definition, analysis, and segmentation; and consultation. RESPONSIBILITIES • In collaboration with data collection program staff, evaluates the quality and usefulness of EMS data, including for characterizing opioid misuse and its deleterious effects throughout Illinois, and communicates findings with data providers and users via marketing and education initiatives. • Advises on how to effectively partner with EMS provider agency leadership and frontline providers. • Develops, disseminates, and analyzes surveys intended to characterize EMS data submitter organizations and the needs, barriers, and opportunities for improvement associated with data collection and submission; presents survey results. • Demonstrates a true passion for flexible learning solutions and their ability to transform the teaching and learning process. • As requested by the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Public Information Officer, provides information on EMS opioid overdose data reporting in response to media inquiries. • Provides guidance on the use of new technologies in conducting multimedia opioid-related risk communication activities, including digital and social media platforms, graphic design, video and audio. • Develops opioid-related communication talking points, media responses, videos, podcasts, web and social media content, infographics content and other print and digital materials. • On an as needed basis, develops and presents the above-mentioned content to internal and external audiences via: o Classroom-based face-to-face training o Live webinar-style distance training o Recorded training for on-demand use • Limited in-state overnight travel is required.

Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Education, Marketing, Public Health, or a related discipline. • 3-5 years of experience in presenting, public speaking and/or education. • Training program implementation experience (curriculum development and delivery; program implementation including scheduling and logistics). • Familiarity with data collection, analysis and interpretation. Experience working with EMS data is desirable but not required. Experience in data visualization and presentation is highly desirable. • Experience with creating and conducting surveys. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to interact well with individuals from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. • Strong organizational skills and highly capable of tracking, summarizing and reporting data submission patterns over time. • Experience in preparing, reviewing and submitting progress reports. • Proficiency in SAS, Stata, SPSS, R or a similar statistical software package or, alternatively, a programming language such as Python applied to the analysis and management of health data. SQL proficiency and/or mastery of relational database concepts is desirable but not required. • Project management experience and/or certification (e.g., Project Management Professional) desirable but not required. • EMS or other clinical experience is desirable but not required.
