Position Description: Purpose: The Administrative Technician - Emergency Medical Services will perform a variety of technician assignments in support of the Division of EMS and Trauma activities. This position will work in collaboration with managers and EMS staff to design forms and procedures in the EMS electronic licensing system, provide technical assistance during stakeholder meetings; may write and revise procedures to accommodate changes that ensure consistency in form and format; provide technical assistance to stakeholders with questions regarding the electronic licensing system; creates, reviews and evaluates documents such as manuals, letters, memos, and forms; provides support to the Section Manager or Division Director as requested. In addition, this position serves as a member of the MDHHS Public Health Emergency Response Team requiring 24/7/365 availability, responding to the Community Health Emergency Coordination Center (CHECC) during any public health preparedness trainings, emergency activations or exercises.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Works in collaboration with managers a and EMS staff to design forms and procedures i in the EMS electronic licensing system. • Provides direct technical assistance a and consultation regarding the Michigan EMS e electronic licensing system. • May write and revise procedures to a accommodate changes that ensure consistency i in form and format. • Completes time-sensitive reports and r review of documents as assigned. • Develops operational manuals and t tools to facilitate compliance with, and e ease of use, of the system. • Creates, reviews and evaluates d documents such as manuals, letters, memos, a and forms. • Works collaboratively with the EMS s staff and the EMSCC Operations and C Compliance subcommittees to support required a activities, including but not limited to: p provide technical assistance during s stakeholder meetings addressing proposed r revisions in rules, regulations and p procedures, and maintains meeting n notes/documentation. • Provides support to the Section m manager or Division Director as requested. • Attends and provides EMS continuing e education sessions in person and via W Webinars related to licensing activities. • Maintains and manages databases, o office files, lists, and other information i in an organized manner. • Establishes and maintains positive, s strong, credible, professional and i interpersonal relationships with all s stakeholder groups. • Responds to the CHECC as requested. • Completes all assignments in a accordance with established deadlines. • Other activities, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Possession of a high school dipl diploma or GED and Paramedic license.

Experience: A minimum of three years of em employment with a life support agency as a li licensed paramedic.

Important Skills and Characteristics: Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills and computer skills required. Self-directed, ab able to set priorities and attend to mu multiple tasks. Must have a thorough un understanding of the Michigan EMS rules and re regulations regarding licensure. Ability to an analyze data and process and make re recommendations for change. Competent in the us use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Wo Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe products. Mu Must be comfortable functioning in a team en environment, as well as working in independently. Must present a professional de demeanor at all times.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Work assignments are performed within an office environment. Some tasks may include assignments on nights and weekends. Dependable transportation and a valid vehicle operator’s license are required. Overn Overnight travel may be required on occasion for c for conferences or meetings. Physical requi requirements consistent with a standard offic office environment.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: None.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: Some tasks required of this position are time-specific. The person in this position w will work cooperatively with MDHHS Bureau of E EMS Trauma and Preparedness staff and other s stakeholders within and outside of state g government. The best interests of the d department will be represented at all times.
