Position Description: The Enteric Disease Epidemiology Branch at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking a bachelor-level candidate to serve as an Epidemiologic Research Assistant (ERA) on the National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS)Team. The E ERA will support programmatic activities i including: •Manage EDEB Sharepoint site (e.g. site de de design, administration, maintenance, manage us us user permissions, alerts, team calendars, an an and project updates)

•Organize conference call, room re re reservation, prepare meeting agendas, and ta ta take minutes for working group calls

•Track team and branch projects, analyses, ac ac active and published manuscripts, and sc sc scientific conferences

•Coordinate materials and plan logistics for an an annual meeting and other meetings as ne needed

•Communicate with site and federal partners to maintain up-to-date site contact in in information and working group lists

•Manage shared email inboxes, respond to da da data requests and other requests for in in information

•Assist with updates to websites

•Track institutional review board study re re renewal dates and approval letters and as as assist with Office of Management and Budget re re renewals

•Perform data entry and/or basic analysis f for projects, as needed

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (e field (e.g. public health, biology). STEM coursewo coursework required. Applicants with advanced degrees degrees (e.g. MS, MPH, PhD) will not be consider considered. Must have received degree within the past 5 y past 5 years. Preference wi related field (e.g. public health, biology). STEM coursework required. Applicants with advanced degrees (e.g. MS, MPH, PhD) will not be considered. Must have received degree within the past 5 years. Preference will be given to candidates with public health experience and/or a working knowledge of project tracking.

Organization Description: The Branch focuses on Campylobacter, Clostridium botulinum, Escherichia coli O157 and other Shiga toxin-prod producing E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, producing E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, Shigella Shigella, Vibrio, Yersinia, and other known and possible bacterial pathogens and their toxins. The branch leads CDC’s epidemiology work in preventing illness caused by bacterial enteric (intestinal) pathogens, including monitoring trends in illness and antimicrobial resistance, investigating outbreaks, and identifying food and non-food so sources of these pathogens.
