Serves as technical lead in on-site inspections of licensed/registered facilities to determine compliance with State and Federal radiological health regulations, conditions of each license or registration, and procedures contained in applications and correspondence. Identifies defici deficiencies and makes recommendations for correc corrective action.
Reviews radiation safety practices and proc procedures for facilities generating or util utilizing sources of radiation or treating or d or disposing of radioactive waste.
Reviews design and shielding of facilities ge generating, utilizing or treating sources of ra radiation.
Investigates incidents or problem areas regarding radiation or related public health concerns. Identifies problems and recommends solutions.
Consults with technical staff and personnel from from nuclear power generating facilities and at c at complex facilities utilizing or poss possessing sources of radiation in the areas of r of radiation protection, personnel dosi dosimetry, dose reduction techniques and radi radioactive effluent monitoring and control.
Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Te Team.
Trains agency staff in the areas of inspecting and licensing/registering facilities utilizing sources of radiation, emergency response and environmental surveillance.
