Position Description: Responsibilities Include: Oversee a large team of professional and administrative staff supporting the Office. Provide leadership for the TDH Office of Informatics and Analytics (includes analytic responsibility for the state Prescription Data Monitoring Program). Identify and prioritize major objectives for the Department regarding public health informatics and managing informatics project portfolios. ? Provide public health interoperability expertise and study data needs within and across programs to identify areas of integration and improve efficiency. Support data management needs for large grants in other programs. ? Make recommendations for policies and practices related to standards, interoperability, electronic health records and data use for improving population health with data sharing partners. Oversee partnerships and represent TDH with federal, state, and local partners regarding public health informatics, data management policies, and procedures. Work with the TDH Office of Information Technology Services on projects with overlapping areas of responsibility. ? Provide analytic services to support the TDH strategic plan, requests for information from Executive and Legislative branches as needed. Have responsibility for data analytics associated with the TDH Electronic Health Record system and business intelligence platforms. Oversee the Institutional Review Board. Have responsibility for the TDH data governance process internally and with external stakeholders.

Qualifications: Requirements: MD or PhD degree is preferred, with 5-8 years in a senior leadership role with experience in planning, directing, formulating policies, setting strategies, providing overall direction of informatics, and analytic activities. Public health experience at the local, state and/or national level. Specialized knowledge in the area of public health informatics. Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills. Strong knowledge of data governance policies and procedures.
