Position Description: The HIV EPIDEMIOLOGIST will work within the Division of Population Health Sciences (PHS). S/he will be responsible for performing technical work in support of the Indian Health Service.

As an Epidemiologist you will:

-Serve as the recognized expert in HIV epidemiology.

-Provide significant epidemiologic supports to projects, programs and staff.

-Evaluate data collection, quality control and data utilization methods used to study epidemiological problems and issues.

-Work collaboratively with the client delivering on all HIV epidemiological work.

-Analyze administrative and other public health data for HIV surveillance.

-Support grantee activities and provide HIV epidemiological expertise.

-Design, plan and initiate epidemiologic studies, surveys and investigations.

-Comply with all ethical guidelines for scientific and human subjects research.

-Synthesize and communicate information to stakeholders and IHS leadership.

-Write manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals.

Qualifications: -Minimally, a Master’s degree in public health, health sciences or related field with eight years of experience. Doctoral level is preferred with four years of experience.

-Demonstrated understanding of HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care along with key stakeholders and partners of Indian Health Service.

-Demonstrated strong analytical skills including administrative and secondary public health data analysis. SAS, STATA, R knowledge is strongly preferred.

-Consulting experience preferred.

-Experience working at federal, state, local or tribal health departments preferred
