Consultation is provided to to support administration of public health pro programs including the MI Breast and Cer Cervical Cancer Control Navigation Program (BC (BCCCNP) and the MI Colorectal Cancer Early Det Detection Program (CRCEDP).
Duties and Responsibilities: Works c collaboratively with the BCCCNP and CRCEDP D Directors and their teams in administration o of clinical services for women and men. • Assists local coordinating agencies a and clinical service providers to meet C Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( (CDC) requirements for BCCCNP and CRCEDP. • Reviews accuracy and appropriateness o of clinical care documentation in the M Michigan Breast and Cervical Information S System (MBCIS) database for breast and c colorectal cancers. • Provides clinical consultation to l local coordinating agencies and clinical s service providers, in arranging for a appropriate diagnostic and treatment s services for women and/or men identified w with a screening abnormality. • Conducts site visits as needed to l local coordinating agencies and clinical s service provider sites to provide c consultation regarding adherence to medical p protocols and use of the MBCIS for m monitoring of clinical services received by p program clients. • Works with BCCCNP and CRCEDP teams in in evaluating quality improvement processes re relating to data and clinical quality.
Provides consultation about breast and colorectal cancer clinical practice to local agencies and clinicians, primarily related to screening, follow-up, and diagnosis of t these two cancers. • Understands and interprets national b breast and colorectal guidelines. • Understands and can advise clinicians, agencies, and others on evidence-based interventions to increase breast and colorectal cancer screening.

Provides support for breast and colorectal c cancer control activities associated with t the Michigan Cancer Consortium (MCC) related t to breast and colorectal cancer. • Works with clinical experts to c convene the MCC Breast and Colorectal Cancer A Advisory Committees. • Works with MCC Breast and Colorectal Cancer Advisory Committees Chairs to obtain clinical advice according to national guidelines and the programs’ medical pro protocol.
Other duties and activities as assigned. • Contributes to CDC progress reports, c competitive, and continuing applications s summarizing program clinical care a activities. • Attends national meetings as r required by CDC. • Assists other cancer section team mem members in projects/activities related to imp implementation of the comprehensive cancer con control plan.
Qualifications/Requirements Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major. A current Michigan license as a registered nurse is required. A master’s degree in nursing, public health, or a or a healthcare field is desirable but not requ required.
Experience: Two or more years of pr professional experience in clinical care.

Self-motivated, able to complete work in timely manner, and handle multiple task at one time with minimal supervision. In addition, must be able to manage complex projects and possess effective problem-solving skills. P Proficiency in Microsoft Office a applications, preparing presentations, and f familiarity with email/internet browser s software is needed. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Work location will be at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in the Cancer Prevention and Control Section currently at the Washington Square Building, 109 Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan. Standard office environment requires use of computer, communicating with other offices via telephone conferencing and e-mail. Employee is responsible for arranging transportation to and from work and daily parking. Some travel outside of the Lansing area may be required to complete assigned task; use of state car is possible. Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing an LED or VDT screen 25% to 75% of the time. Does require valid vehicle operator’s license and limited travel within Mich Michigan to provide training. Work schedule will be Monday through Friday, no no weekend hours, with paid holidays off. The n nurse represents MPHI as well as the Cancer P Prevention and Control Section to these p professionals. Work with all parties i involved in should positively impact the r reputation of MDHHS, MPHI, and the MCC.
