Position Description: Department: 803- Graduate School Full/Part Time: Full Time Program Manager, Career Services (Public Health Programs) Description: The Program Manger of Career Services manages all aspects of said office. In this capacity the individual will: • Assist graduating public health students with job search and career development/job readiness • Build academic contacts and develop strong relationships with employers through networking and in-person visits to their organizations • Hold on-campus events that bring academic as well as non-academic employers for networking, presentations and interviews with graduating students • Maintain contact and build relationships with alumni • Implement forward-thinking solutions and best practices related to recruiting and relationship management that are mutually beneficial to students/postdocs and employers • Increase visibility of the Graduate program with academic institutions as well as pharmaceutical, industry and international agencies, non-profits and NGOs. • Maintain up-to-date data on hiring practices, employers’ needs, desired alumni qualifications and trends of industries • Enhance the overall student experience by keeping the office accessible to them, getting to know them and responding to their queries in a timely and personalized manner • Develop advanced training programs aimed for school’s alumni • Identify target companies, organizations and institutions. Meet with and help recruit for said targets • Implement large scale annual career events, including job coaching events, workshops etc. • Prepare and present to students material on various career-related topics, including resume building and job search skills Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's Degree preferred • At least five years of relevant experience preferably in outplacement services and staffing recruitment • Demonstrable record of success achieving quantifiable goals • Ability in building internal and external working relationships with strong networking skills • Adept in working in a results-oriented, metrics driven environment • Competent in functioning in a collaborative setting with diverse constituencies • Ability in handling multiple projects simultaneously and remain highly organized • Knowledgeable in various business career options, experience in recruiting, job placement, career counseling and coaching • Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Report to: Administrative Director, Graduate Program in Public Health Program Director, Graduate Program in Public Health
