Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $52,943 - $68,816 annually.
Position Description: The Center Manager will conduct the day-to- day management of the Washington University Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control (WU-ISCCC), designed to help eliminate cancer disparities in rural and other underserved communities. The Center Manager will split time between the Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) campus and the Danforth campus (Brown School) and will assist the investigators and working group units in coordinating the overall center. This will require coordination of a diverse team of consultants, faculty, and research assistants, application of scientific research methods, design and coordination of dissemination and implementation strategies, excellent oral and written communications skills, and supervisory skills.

Qualifications: REQUIRED • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of professional work experience • Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and Excel are required.

PREFERRED • Master’s degree in public health, social work, social sciences, or public policy • Experience in mobilizing and working with many diverse partners • Data collection and research methods experience • Experience in public health and clinical studies desirable • Experience with managing budgets • Experience working in a university or research environment

CRITICAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE • Strong oral and written communication skills • Knowledge of the principles of research design • Public health knowledge • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data collection, editing, record-keeping, and monitoring progress • Ability to manage one's own schedule and that of others; to set and meet multiple concurring deadlines • Ability to present self and the study projects to internal and external partners • Excellent communication skills to work with study faculty, consultants, partners, students and employees • Ability to work on multiple study aspects with diverse team members

Organization Description: The Prevention Research Center in St. Louis (PRC-StL) explores behaviors that place Americans at risk for chronic diseases such as obesity, cancer and diabetes. Center researchers conduct and share research on physical activity, policy, the built environment, and the translation of evidence into public health practice, while placing particular emphasis on vulnerable populations.
