Position Description: The person in each of these positions will provide classroom instruction in the health science curriculum. These individuals will also fulfill academic duties including conducting research appropriate to the teacher-scholar model, academic advising, mentoring of student research and other co-curricular experiences, and provide service to the University and community.

Appointment for these tenure-track Assistant Professor positions requires a doctoral degree in Health Science or related area. ABD will be considered but the Ph.D. must be completed by the day reappointment recommendations are due or, approximately February 1, 2021.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications

-Professional certification (candidate must be CHES-eligible, CHES or MCHES preferred)

-Teaching effectiveness or the potential for teaching effectiveness

-Evidence of scholarly productivity, or the potential to be a productive scholar, especially as this scholarship informs their teaching

-Evidence of commitment to liberal arts education as a teacher-scholar

-Strong oral and written communication skills

-Previous successful college/university teaching experience -Evidence or demonstrated potential for encouraging or mentoring students in transformative learning experiences such as undergraduate research, service learning, and internships

-Compatibility with department needs

-The development and facilitation of interdisciplinary learning experiences Evidence or demonstrated potential for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students

-Evidence or demonstrated potential for scholarly activity beyond the thesis or dissertation
