Position Description: Planned Parenthood of New York City is seeking a Director, Data and Analytics Strategy Hub (DASH) to join our Innovation and Analytics Centre Team. This position will be based at our Administrative office at 26 Bleecker Street, New York, New York 10012.

The Director, Data and Analytics Strategy Hub (DASH) will play a lead role in conducting and managing multiple analytics initiatives to guide PPNYC through strategic decision making for different areas in the organization including but not limited to Clinical, Finance, Development, Call Center, Public Affairs and Human Resources. They will gather business requirements sessions with stakeholders, and facilitating large- group/cross-functional sessions with customers, while containing the scope of the initiative, serve as the subject matter expert on the data warehouse and dashboard reporting standards, support and build capacity to leverage the new data and enhance reports, develop and maintain the suite of web-based dashboards for the organization at all levels – from executive reporting to front-line staff, manage the road map for new and enhancements to dashboards, implement, support and administer PPNYC’s Data and Analytics Strategy Hub (DASH), the organizations integrated data warehouse and reporting platform (using MS SQL, Talend and Tableau technologies), oversee and support the data warehouse growth and data quality as well as liaise with technical consultant staff to support enhancements and bug-fixes, and serve as the main point of contact to manage vendors and consultants who support the DASH platform

What the Director of Data and Analytics Strategy Hub (DASH) does: Gathers business requirements by conducting meetings/interviews, and facilitating large-group/cross-functional sessions with customers, while containing the scope of the initiative. Develops new dashboards for all levels of organization from front-line teams to executive leadership. Tests, troubleshoots and resolves data transformation processes end-to-end from source systems to the data warehouse to dashboards in order to ensure high quality data reporting. Understands the concepts and standards for common ETL design techniques such as change data capture. Has the ability to follow existing ETL specifications and design. Leads a team of consultants as they build out the data processing ETL workflows. Researches and supports end-to-end data workflows, particularly the ability to pull new data (ie- ADP workforce management, case management software, etc) from source systems and enhance data availability in the data warehouse. Analyzes, designs, implements and supports data processes using ETL tools for new data sources to augment to the dashboard portfolio. Is the technical subject matter expert on the data warehouse and dashboard reporting standards, supports and builds capacity within the IAC team and PPNYC as a whole to leverage the new data and enhance reports. Provides first level of administration of the SQL Data warehouse, Talend and Tableau. Liaises and is the main point of contact for IT technical support for complex support and enhancements. Owns, manages and leads the road map for enhancements for new data sources and new dashboards. Develops web-based dashboard reports in Tableau and creates processes to input data for monthly indicators reports using PPNYC’s business intelligence tools, systems and databases. Produces efficient processes to replicate and automate reports monthly. Audits data sources and analyses to ensure data and deliverables are accurate and complete. Collaborates with many areas across PPNYC (financial, IT, administrative, clinical, public affairs, HR, education and training) and maintains working relationships with staff to collect requirements and deliver. Performs other ad-hoc analyses and business intelligence reporting related duties as assigned. Leverages existing processes for tracking and prioritizing deliverables, suggesting enhancements as needed - Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standard practices in the areas of ADA and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA.

Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with an emphasis in Computer Science, Application Development, Database Development and Management, Data Visualization, or similar studies. + 2+ years of experience integrating and administrating complex data sources and implementing business intelligence tools. + Strong experience developing and administering large scale integrated data warehouses. + Ability to conduct database manipulation (e.g. SQL, Talend and Tableau, as well as other ETL tools, such as MS Office tools – Excel and R). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to build successful relationships and partner with Director level leaders. + A demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions.
