Position Description: The Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health is seeking a doctorally- prepared faculty member, with a background in biostatistics and/or bioinformatics. This position will predominantly be involved in team science collaborative efforts with investigators interested in research around the impact of environmental exposures on treatment efficacy of diseases. Expertise in machine learning methods linked to electronic medical records (EMR) is required. The research teams may be supported in part by ConduITS – the Institutes for Translational Sciences at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

In addition, this position will provide support to the Division of Biostatistics within the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health. As such, this position will be expected to use state-of- the-art biostatistical methods to lead in statistical design and analysis of environmental health observational studies in funded studies and grant applications for new studies. Most studies include the evaluation of high-dimensional environmental exposures and/or biomarkers and their potential association with human health effects. Implementation of existing methods and/or development of new methods or processes that address study aims is expected.

Qualifications: Required Related Experience: Relevant biostatistics expertise in machine learning and analysis of electronic medical records

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Statistical software: R and SAS

Demonstrated ability to prepare, present, and publish written and oral biostatistical analysis results of observational studies.
