Position Description: Primary Purpose

The successful candidate will provide statistical support on faculty research projects and grant proposals, participate as a research team member for the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences (KDHS) programs and teach graduate level courses in biostatistics, epidemiology and possibly health informatics within the Department of Community and Public Health (DCPH). Tenure track appointment will be considered based upon qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Track - Consultation and scholarly activities through statistical support and participation in pre-and post-award research teams for the Department of Community and Public Health, the Institute of Rural Health and the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences faculty (50%) - Teach and mentor students in the Department of Community and Public Health (35%) - Coordination of statistics curriculum across the KDHS (5%) - Service (10%)

Tenure Track - Consultation and scholarly activities through statistical support and participation in pre-and post-award research teams for the Department of Community and Public Health, the Institute of Rural Health and the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences faculty (65%) - Teach and mentor students in the Department of Community and Public Health (25%) - Coordination of statistics curriculum across the KDHS (5%) - Service (5%)

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications

Clinical or Tenure Track: • Doctoral degree in any field (ABD considered) • Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics or related discipline • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a collaborative research environment or statistical consulting • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to express complex analytic information to a diverse audience of faculty and students • Experience consulting in an interdisciplinary health team • Advanced computer skills and expertise in at least one standard statistical software program • Teaching upper division courses

Additional Tenure Track • Evidence of Grantsmanship and publications Preferred Qualifications

Clinical or Tenure Track: • Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics or related discipline • Broad expertise in statistical analysis software including R, SAS, SPSS, STATA, etc. • Analytic and programming experience (SQL) with large administrative data sets (claims, registries, EMR) and diverse study types • Experience supporting grant-funded research and publishing in health-related fields • Teaching with distance learning modalities (online, synchronous, asynchronous) and consulting in-person and via video-conferencing • Graduate level teaching in statistics • Experience with data visualization technology (e.g., Domo, Tableau) • Ability to support/consult on faculty projects integrating data visualization

Additional Tenure Track: • Experience directing grant-funded research and publishing in health-related fields • Actively funded extramural funding • Publication in peer reviewed journals • Evidence of successful grant procurement • Evidence of active involvement/leadership in professional associations
