Position Description: Do you have strong organizational skills with a passion for pediatric environmental health? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a team player to coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSU) program activities.

Some duties include: 1. Plan and coordinate program meetings and conference calls, including developing and disseminating agendas and notes, presentation materials, and meeting invitations; developing and maintaining participant rosters/information; and coordinating hotel, catering, a/v, and transportation arrangements. Process meeting-related expense reports. 2. Attend and participate in meetings and/or conference calls, draft minutes, and assist in coordinating meeting discussion follow up, as necessary. 3. Administer the sub-contractual agreements and financial reporting for sub-contracted awardees. 4. Assist in coordinating projects and/or staffing work groups, as directed. 5. Coordinate the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Project ECHO Pediatric Environmental Health, including development, coordination, and implementation of program activities and materials (eg, resource manual, training tools, sample project protocols) as well as promotional materials (eg, newsletter and email distribution lists, articles, flyers, and brochures). Assist with regional involvement, site recruitment, meeting planning, report writing, and preparation of meeting minutes and conference call notes. Maintain spreadsheet to track program activities. 6. Coordinate various aspects of educational webinars and other educational offerings, including working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and faculty on content and learning objectives; reviewing materials to ensure highest level of professionalism; implementing marketing and promotion initiatives; adding registration information to PEHSU.net, providing technical assistance; and coordinating evaluation efforts and continuing education in collaboration appropriate staff . 7. Produce and disseminate program materials, including monthly newsletters, writing draft content, securing input from staff and members/experts, editing and revising as requested, and developing and implementing marketing materials and strategies. 8. Distribute content through various AAP and partner communication channels including newsletters, PEHSU.net, AAP News, On Call, Chapter Leader Link, and approved AAP and PEHSU social media. 9. Coordinate the content of the PEHSU Facebook page, and other outreach efforts to increase the visibility of the program and develop and implement a social media strategy. 10. Provide resources and technical assistance to pediatricians, nurses, and other health professionals, and other service providers. Track related program activities and refer inquiries to program staff and members as needed. Record requests through the National PEHSU central call line and inbox for information, resources, and referral in the program tracking system.

Qualifications: Qualifications Needed: 1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, health education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. 2. Two to three years’ related experience in coordination, development, and implementation of multiple projects required, including coordinating and facilitating meetings, managing website content, and working with databases, preferably in a health-related setting or association. Experience writing content for social media platforms and working with grants and state agency programs highly desired. 3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, proofreading, and communication skills required. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to complete work with a high level of accuracy, manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
