Position Description: Health Policy/Services Analyst II 1910608

Your Role: The Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks an experienced research staff person to assist with evaluating the implementation of programs to improve quality, safety, and health care delivery. The position requires intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of research and operations-related activities including project management, data management, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and report preparation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Coordinate research and evaluation activities involving interdisciplinary teams

· Perform program evaluation using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods

· Perform data quality assessments, assist with data collection, and statistical analysis

· Prepare reports for scientific, clinical, and operational audiences

· Effectively communicate with collaborators across the institution

· Adhere to all policy and best practices across diverse healthcare settings

· Complete and follow all regulatory requirements, including IRB guidelines and submissions

Position Requirements:

Bachelors degree and 2 years relevant experience

Candidates with Master’s level training in Public Health, Behavioral Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field are strongly preferred. Experience in statistical analysis and report writing is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and experience in quality assessment or improvement.

1.Coordinates research projects

1a.Uses quantitative and qualitative research methods skills to participate in the design, coordination and conduct of research projects

1b.Fosters collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the department

1c.May coordinate focus groups or participate in other qualitative data collection

2.Data management and analysis

2a.Uses advanced programming and statistical expertise to manage and analyze data

2b. Responsible for managing large and/or complex datasets

2c.Coordinates development of datasets, data cleaning, data validation, and data reporting

2d.Summarizes and interprets complex analyses

2e.Maintains detailed documentation of data management and programming codes

3.Prepares materials and drafts sections of presentations and written documents

3a.Prepares materials for presentations

3b.Organizes and formats data for presentations, publications, and internal use

3c.Creates charts, graphs, and tables to summarize analysis results

3d.Drafts section of research proposals

3e.Drafts technical report sections

3f.Contributes to peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts

Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 2 years of relevant public health experience. Masters degree preferred.
