First Choice Counseling Center is an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic located in Baltimore County. We have a Therapy program, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), as well as a Substance Abuse programs. First Choice Counseling Center goal is to promote individualized wellness by providing accessible and quality behavioral services that empathizes trust, respect confidentiality and compassion.
The Medical Director will perform all duties regarding day-to-day medical operations of the organization. This shall include assessments/evaluation, medication management, coordination of treatment planning, chart reviews, program outcomes monitoring, and program development. In addition, be responsible for providing diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of patients. Clinical supervision, education, and training of the treatment staff,and medication administration. Complete all necessary documentation . Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Overall clinical responsibilities of OMHC Establish and Maintain appropriate standards for diagnosis and treatment, including therapeutic modalities and prescribing practices; Medical Aspects of quality management; Prescribe treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders Collaborate with psychotherapist, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments. Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists or medical professionals. Coordinate with the clinical team in the training of staff on matters of psychopharmacology and assessment and diagnosis. Provide assistance in supervision for clinical staff. Provide reinforcement of documentation/service standards assisting with compliance and clinical concerns. Assist with hiring and termination of psychiatry staff Complete psychiatric evaluations Prescribe medications to clients. Is on-site at least 20 hours per week. Demonstrated ability to examine, evaluate, diagnose and treat psychiatric and mental illnesses. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary treatment teams ensuring development, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment. Skilled in the use of technology, software, and resources to assist and aid in the course of daily medical responsibilities. Skilled in documenting medical records and articulating and interacting with patients and others regarding clinical / administrative concerns or issues. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a licensed Physician or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland Clinical and Private Practice expertise preferred. Must have a CDS/DEA license or eligible to obtain. Job Type: Part-time
