Position Description: Make a difference! This is your opportunity to lead a talented team of environmental and public health professionals. You will be responsible for several programs within Food and Community Safety, one of the Department's largest teams. This work includes regulatory, technical assistance, and education and outreach efforts. You will work closely with other local, state and federal partners, to coordinate our work throughout Pierce County. This is a Regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) position.

Some of what you'll do: •Manage budgets, contracts, grant deliverables and program operations. •Set, monitor, and evaluate program goals and objectives. •Mentor, coach, lead and manage staff. •Collaborate with stakeholders and community partners. •Represent the Department on inter-agency committees and task forces. •Identify and manage project/program data needs, and perform data analysis. •Develop and implement regulations, policies and procedures. •Represent the Food and Community Safety Program and Communicable Disease Division on agency-wide initiatives and workgroups.

Qualifications: Individuals with a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public health, business management or public administration and five or more years experience in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of work.

The strongest candidates will have five or more years relevant supervisory or managerial experience. Required Certifications and Licensure •Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driver's abstract is required prior to employment.
