Position Description: This position serves as the coordinator for Wisconsin EMS Data and Quality Improvement expert. The position is responsible for the planning, developing, implementing, and ongoing assessment, evaluation, and maintenance of the Wisconsin Ambulance Run Data System (WARDS). The incumbent must be able to research trends, programs, and methods/techniques being developed or in use to provide information on the provision of EMS care. This position helps coordinate the design and analysis of the data management structure and assists and trains WARDS program users. Once the data is collected and analyzed, this position is responsible for planning and preparing reports for dissemination and recommending continuous quality improvement for the EMS data system. Data is to be used by department planners as input for policy recommendation and by government organizations for program planning purposes. This position also assists with the development, revision, and maintenance of the e-licensing system for EMS practitioners. This position is responsible for maintenance and development of the EMS data system and coordinating the submission of the Wisconsin EMS data to the National EMS Information System.

Qualifications: Minimally qualified candidates will have:

Experience managing or administering a data system (e.g. ensuring data quality, managing the information collected within the system, detecting patterns and trends, implementing and updating work flow processes, creating content for system forms, creating user accounts, providing technical assistance or training to users, resetting passwords, auditing logs, etc.).

Experience developing and implementing work plans.

Experience using data visualization tools to present data to stakeholders.

Experience writing reports outlining data analysis and evaluation results.

Experience using continuous quality improvement processes or methods to identify problems and recommend solutions.

Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Effective communication skills.

In addition, well-qualified candidates will have:

Experience collecting and analyzing EMS data for changes in training and delivery of care.

Experience in emergency medical services as a field provider.

Experience with Wisconsin Ambulance Run Data Systems.
