Position Description: Participates in Epidemiologic assessments and analysis by recognizing public health and environmental problems pertinent to the population; participates in surveillance activities to identify acute and chronic conditions or other adverse outcomes in the population; organizes data from surveillance, investigations, or other sources; analyzes data from an epidemiologic investigation or study; summarizes results of the analysis and draw conclusions; assists in developing recommended evidence-based interventions and control measures in response to epidemiologic findings; and assists in the evaluation of programs.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Nursing or related science and two (2) years’ experience in epidemiology and communicable diseases in public health or related setting is required. May require KS/MO driver’s li license, depending on department or agency.

Master’s degree in A Master’s degree in public health (MPH) or a master's of science degree in public health (MSPH) with a focus in epidemiology or analysis and assessment or other non-epidemiology graduate degree or certi certification (e.g., RN, RS) with specific epide epidemiology training (e.g., MPH degree, CDC Epide Epidemic Intelligence Service or CSTE Appli Applied Epidemiology Fellowship) and one (1) year year of experience in communicable disease and/o and/or environmental health focus in a publi public health or related setting are prefe preferred.

Johnson County Government requires ref reference/background screening for all pos positions. Specified criteria may vary by Dep Department/Agency.
