Position Description: he mission of the Prevention and Health Promotion Administration is to protect, promote and improve the health and well- being of all Marylanders and their families through provision of public health leadership and through community- based public health efforts in partnership with local health departments, providers, community based organizations, and public and private sector agencies, giving special attention to at-risk and vulnerable populations. The Prevention and Health Promotion Administration envisions a future in which all Marylanders and their families enjoy optimal health and well-being. The Infectious Disease Prevention and Health Services Bureau (IDPHSB) focuses on the treatment and prevention of HIV, STI, and viral hepatitis, and the Center for HIV Prevention and Health Services (Center) focuses on prevention and medical and supportive services related to HIV.

The main purpose of the Center Chief is to oversee the administration of HIV prevention and health services functions on behalf of the state of Maryland. This includes overseeing a staff of 30+ individuals, managing a budget of approximately $25 million, and maintaining alignment with all requirements of the federal grants within the Center's purview. The Chief also has responsibility for administering Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration funding transferred from the Behavioral Health Administration. The position also serves as a representative of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Health Services Bureau (IDPHSB) on behalf of HIV issues and maintains strong collaborative relationships with local health departments and other community partners. The position is responsible for ensuring program collaboration and service integration within the Center and across IDPHSB and other programs. The position may act for the Deputy Director in the Deputy Director's absence.

Qualifications: Qualified candidate must possess a master's degree and at least three years experience related to public health prevention, care coordination, and/or service delivery. Candidates must also possess at least three years of supervisory and management experience.
