Position Description: Responsibilities The Public Health Specialist I will join a team of public health professionals to work on a grant-funded, multi-site, case- control research study of birth defects. The Birth Defects Study to Evaluate Pregnancy exposures (BD-STEPS) aims to identify modifiable maternal risk factors in order to improve prevention efforts. The PHSI will assist with the creation, organization, sending and tracking of study mailings for study subject recruitment and related data; assist with reviewing protocol and communications materials to provide feedback to CDC on any changes; assist with BD-STEPS on-line pilot projects; and perform other appropriate related duties.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Science or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of experience in that field; OR four years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in research/project coordination. Experience in public health. Experience using Microsoft Excel. Experience using Microsoft Access. Experience tracking and managing study recruitment data.
