Position Description: Two-year post-doctoral fellowship that provides robust training in clinical informatics and data science at the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and at Vanderbilt’s Department of Biomedical Informatics.

Fellows will work side by side with National Library of Medicine trainees while earning a tuition-free Master’s Degree in Biomedical Informatics from Vanderbilt University. Trainees will propose, implement, and defend a research thesis project under the guidance of their informatics and quality mentors. Trainees will also share education opportunities with physician trainees in VA's National Quality Scholars Fellowship Program.

Competitive stipends, healthcare benefits, and $12,000 per year in research and other support are offered. Further requirements are available from the VA Special Fellowship Program in Medical Informatics website.

Qualifications: The Fellowship is open to physicians and graduates of doctoral programs in a clinical discipline such as nursing, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, or audiology/speech pathology, or a PhD program in computer science or other relevant discipline. Candidates MUST be U.S. citizens.
