Position Description: POSITION SUMMARY

The Managing Director is responsible for leading the strategic and operational implementation of the National Quality Forum’s (NQF) measure alignment, public and private measure partnerships, emerging quality trends, and measurement gap projects. The Managing Director leads and manages the day-to-day operations of those project projects including managing project team leads, leads, ensuring projects are on time and within within budget, and overseeing and monitoring project project direction and milestones. The positio position is also responsible for leading new busines business development activities in emerging quality quality areas. The Managing Director will also pr also provide content expertise to staff, includi including expertise to help advance measure alignme alignment and emerging areas of quality measure measurement.


•Manages multiple project team leads who are r responsible for overseeing approximately 12 p projects. • Mentors and coaches direct reports and o other junior project staff. •Empowers staff to generate ideas, p proactively solve problems, and ensure o ownership and accountability. •Actively guides staff and encourages participation in organization-wide efforts a and activities. •Manages project budgets including c collaborating with the Finance department to d develop initial budgets, monitoring u utilization, and working with team leads to k keep project within budget. •Oversees contract management including m maintaining good relationships with funders a and addressing issues in a timely manner, in c consultation with team leads. •Leads business development activities in e emerging quality areas including overseeing p proposal writing, developing budgets, and w working collaboratively across NQF to i identify and develop new opportunities. •Implements a talent management strategy in c consultation with the Human Resources d department. •Briefs senior leadership on status of p projects, emerging trends, and opportunities f for future development. •Collaborates across NQF to advance quality mea measurement and alignment.


Education/Certification: ?Advanced degree in a clinical discipline, pub public health or healthcare management.

Experience: ?Minimum of 10 years of experience managing p people, budgets, and projects. ?Minimum of 7 years of experience leading, m managing, coaching and mentoring individuals a and/or teams and holding staff accountable f for results. ?Demonstrated strong program management e experience across multiple large projects a and competing priorities to achieve optimal r results. ?Demonstrated experience developing budgets a and forecasts for projects and managing u utilization targets. ?Experience presenting and writing on behalf o of an organization. ?Strong knowledge of the healthcare p performance management, policy or public h health. ?Experience working in the healthcare del delivery system is a plus.

Skills/Abilities: ?Excellent interpersonal skills. ?Proven track record in working c collaboratively with internal staff and e external stakeholders is essential. ?Demonstrated strategic planning ability. ?Demonstrated strategic cultivation of e external relationships through regular p participation in panels, committees and n networks. ?Demonstrated excellent communication skills, inclu skills, including writing, presentation and persuasion sk persuasion skills for external audiences evidenced thr evidenced through annual speaking engagements, engagements, showing area of expertise and thought leade thought leadership.
