Position Description: Strong commitment to quality teaching, research, service, and engagement in collaborations with public health, medical and dental at Meharry Medical College is expected. The Division of Public Health Practice is seeking a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Health Administration. The teaching load is at least two graduate courses per semester. The position is expected to coordinate the development of new classes online and in- person for a concertation Health Administration. The successful candidate must be able to teach healthcare management, population health, health systems organization, etc. For senior appointments, it is expected that faculty will take on a leadership role in expanding the teaching, research, and service missions of the College. Applicants who can facilitate student’s application of competencies in health care scenarios will be given a strong consideration. Experience in teaching and managing online course delivery, in addition to curricular development. The successful candidate will conduct research in a collaborative atmosphere, seek extramural grant support, teach and mentor health administration and public health students, and contribute to the further development of the Division of Public Health Practice.

Qualifications: A PhD in Health Policy and Management or Public Health is required. Recent PhD graduates, with teaching experience, are most especially encouraged to apply. We seek outstanding individuals with a commitment to teaching, collaborative research and consulting. Required: Applicants should have awareness of, and sensitivity to, the educational goals of a multicultural population, as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
