Position Description: Rutgers School of Public Health, partnered with the Vaccine Preventable Disease Surveillance Program (VPDP) at the New Jersey Department of Health, is recruiting for an Epidemiologist with the necessary education, training, and experience to research, analyze and prepare reports related to New Jersey Immunization reates including relevant comparisons to national and regional rates. This position is located in Trenton, NJ at the New Jersey Department of Health. Duties of the Epidemiologist include developing competency with various CDC population and vaccine management systems. Be able to utilize identified systems to ensure accurate reporting to the CDC and manage vaccine spending and distribution. Will develop competency with the New Jersey immunization Information System (the Registry) and its contained reports to support program operations. Be able to digest reports and aggregate data as required. Use statistical techniques such as geographic information system (GIS) to better assess and illustrate immunization coverage rates.

Qualifications: Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or other relevant Master's degree. Experience with research, collection, manipulation and analysis of bio-statistical health data. Proficiency in statistical analysis programs (e.g. SAS, Excel, Access, GIS)
