Position Description: The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine ( seeks to fill a faculty position in Biostatistics at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in either the Tenure or non-Tenure track. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on applicants’ background and expertise. We are looking for expertise that complements our current areas of departmental research (statistical genomics, complex longitudinal statistical modeling, modeling of health impact of environmental and behavioral factors, correlated data analysis, big data analytics, clinical trials and causal inference). Expertise in and ability to work with multidisciplinary research teams is expected. Candidates should have a strong record of research in biostatistics in one or more of: investigator-initiated studies, company-sponsored trials, collaborative group studies, and content knowledge of trial design from the regulatory, biological/clinical/behavioral, and statistical perspective. Examples of specific diseases or health issues of interest include: cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, health disparities, infectious disease, neurodegeneration, and obesity. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biostatistics or a relevant quantitative discipline is expected

Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biostatistics or a relevant quantitative discipline is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with established external funding and a strong record of publications reflecting independent and/or collaborative research programs, especially those who could advance/collaborate with existing departmental and institutional research. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a track record of extramurally-funded research as Principal Investigator and/or as a collaborator. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Department’s MS in Biostatistics program, PhD program in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and MPH program

Organization Description: The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences offers research and graduate education in biostatistics and bioinformatics; genetic epidemiology; global and environmental health; health promotion and prevention; public health; health services research. The Department ( provides an exciting environment of growth and is aligned with The Cleveland Institute for Computational Biology ( Case Western Reserve University and its associated hospitals (University Hospitals/Rainbow Babies, MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, and VA Medical Center) provide a rich environment for basic science, clinical, and population health research.
