Position Description: The Senior Public Health Program Associate position will work with the Center’s programmatic team and report to the R-IV PHTC associate director. Specific duties include: • This position will have primary responsibility to represent the R-IV PHTC as our regional coordinator. • The position will also manage the regional field placement program for public health graduate students and should have experience developing competency-based practice experiences and opportunities for student professional development. • The position will also be responsible for updating all policies and procedures for these field placement experiences, as needed, including virtual events designed to serve as a forum for both MPH students and public health professionals who have collaborated in the field placement activities. • This position will also have primary responsibility for coordinating the Center’s regional Public Health Leadership Institute which is an annual hybrid training offering. • In addition to these primary activities, it is anticipated the Senior Public Health Program Associate position will participate in other activities related to training (e.g., internal quality assurance process, implementation of training); and will engage with national PHTC network activities, to be determined.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in public health, a master's of science degree in public health or health education, or a master's in development practice from an accredited school and three years of relevant applied public health experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants who have: • A Master in Public Health (MPH) degree from a CEPH-accredited school or program of public health • Experience in public health practice and workforce development • Experience working in, or with, local or state level governmental public health and other CBOs in the southeastern part of the U.S. to meet their workforce development goals • Experience developing practice experiences and providing professional development mentorship to graduate students • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of adult education and competency-based curriculum development • Experience developing training materials for both in-person and online environments • Experience using Zoom, Adobe Connect, or similar web conferencing software, for instructional sessions

Organization Description: Originally, funded in 2014 by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the mission of the Region IV Public Health Training Center (R-IV PHTC) is to improve the ability of the public health workforce to meet national, state, and local needs. The primary activities of the R-IV PHTC are to provide field placement opportunities for public health students in the eight states that comprise HHS Region IV (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee); identify training needs for the governmental public health workforce in Region IV; and develop/implement trainings for this workforce. The R-IV PHTC is headquartered at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University and partners with academic or community-based organizations in the other seven states to accomplish its mission.
