Position Description: This position provides consultation, education and technical assistance with immunization coverage through assessment, epidemiological investigation and data analysis. It also, in plans, coordinates, conducts, analyzes, interprets, and reports the findings from public health surveillance systems and advanced epidemiologic studies as they relate to immunization coverage in school and childcare settings.

This recruitment is for a full-time permanent Epidemiologist 2 within the Division of Prevention and Community Health, Office of Immunization and Child Profile (OICP).

The work of this office is focused on immunizations, a cornerstone of public health work to reduce morbidity and mortality from vaccine preventable disease.

Qualifications: • Option 1: A Master’s degree in Epidemiology.


• Option 2: Master’s degree in public health, or a closely allied field which includes 12 graduate quarter hours or equivalent (500 level or above) in epidemiology and 12 graduate quarter hours or equivalent in biostatistics.


• Two (2) or more years of experience in the following:

o Epidemiology or disease surveillance

o Using statistical software (R, SAS, SQL, or similar products) for complex data analysis.

• Demonstrated experience in the following:

o Manipulating, researching, or analyzing immunization and/or notifiable condition data.

o Manipulating large datasets.

o Presenting data in a variety of formats to diverse audiences.

o Communicating effectively, orally and in writing on technical or health issues to diverse audiences.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in the following:

o Producing documents that display geographic data.

o Working with data visualization software, such as Tableau or similar products.

o Using survey software (Survey Monkey, REDCap, Qualtrics or similar products) to develop and distribute public surveys or data collection.

o Developing and maintaining relationships with public health partners.

o Working in an immunization program and/or with immunization registry data.
