Position Description: This position is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC), Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) in Philadelphia, PA. The position involves performing scientific work and providing professional consultation in applying statistical theories, techniques, and methods to gather, analyze, interpret, and report quantified information.

Major Duties Include:

1. Carrying out high-level statistical analyses of large and complex datasets while ensuring data security and accuracy.

2. Deciding the most effective approach or methodology by identifying, developing, and integrating pertinent information through various data collection/analysis procedures

3. Analyzing VA patient care databases and data from other sources.

4. Interpreting epidemiological and resource utilization data for a variety of research topics to provide significant and innovative recommendations for reports and for advancing research.

5. Conducting cross-sectional and longitudinal data analysis.

6. Lead the statistical analysis in the preparation of manuscripts and oral briefings regarding projects and results.

Qualifications: Education: M.S in Statistics. 1-2 years of work experience that includes working on health services or behavioral intervention research projects is preferred. Knowledge of statistics, statistical programming, and study methodologies to evaluate data, extrapolate findings to complex issues and questions and propose recommendations. Interpersonal skills and teaching skills to work with a variety of staff, including senior subject matter experts from diverse disciplines providing consultation and collaborations.
