Employee Name: TBD Supervisor: Mary-Grace Brandt Purpose: This position will serve as the epidemiologist for Michigan’s HIV Incidence Surveillance, the HIV Medical Monitoring Project (MMP), and the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS). These three projects sit within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service’s Division of HIV & STD Programs. The Epidemiologist - Special Projects role includes development of survey questions, creation of basic data tables, and in Special Projects role includes development of survey questions, creation of basic data tables, and in-depth statistical analyses of ava available data. The individual in this role wil will need to coordinate with multiple per persons within the Michigan program as well as as national partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform QA, completeness and error p programs provided by CDC on incidence data m monthly. Correct errors and seek missing d data. • Use SAS programs to generate i incidence estimates. • Medical Monitoring Project (MMP) and N National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS) • Create fact sheets for stakeholders. • Contribute data tables for required C CDC reports. • Conduct statistical analysis u utilizing Michigan data and/or collaborating w with national partners. • Assist with development of local q questions. • Use analyzed data to develop posters a and/or presentations for local and/or n national conferences. • Complete data manipulation and a analyses using SAS. • Publish results for appropriate a audience: may require a scientific paper or a a fact sheet accessible to the general p public. Publications are predominately p published using Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to manage competing p priorities and deadlines of three special p projects. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Maintain a positive, strong, credible, credible, professional and interpersonal relations relationship with all parties relevant of MPHI proj MPHI projects and represent the best interest interest of MPHI at all times.
Education: Possession of a Master of Public Healt Health, with an epidemiology or biost biostatistics concentration is required.
Experience: Proficient in SAS programming wit with, preferable, two or more years of exp experience using SAS for statistical ana analyses and data manipulation. Experience wit with scientific writing and creation of rep reports for a wide audience. Familiar with the the analysis of relational datasets and com complex survey data.
