Position Description: POSITION DESCRIPTION: Coordinates the project planning process. Provides programmatic assistance in tracking the budget, activities, and timelines for several projects at a time. Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings. May manage a project independently. May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives. Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports. Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements. May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project. Performs related responsibilities as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Coordination:

• Provides programmatic assistance in tracking the budget, activities, and timelines for several projects at a time. • Recruits key consultants for projects and drafts project contracts • Monitors and reports on consultant and project progress • Manages mini grant awards to overseas residents • May manage project(s) independently

Knowledge Management:

• Collects and reports on data from projects and programs to contribute to newsletter articles, papers and presentations • Collects or develops concept papers and assists in the creation and submission of grant applications • Coordinates the updating of relevant content on TEPHINET project and related web pages

Conference Support: • Provides support to the Conference/Abstract Coordinator as needed for management of the abstracting cycle and selection of moderators/judges/reviewers for presentations at TEPHINET regional and global conferences • May collaborate with the Senior Associate Director of Science and Events Manager to support activities during TEPHINET’s regional and global conferences

OTHER RESPONSIBILITY:

• Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management

TRAVEL: Up to 15% domestic and/or international travel is required.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Public Health or related. • Experience with donor funded projects, preferably with international NGOs and, project management support • Proficient in Excel, Google Forms, Smartsheet

Organization Description: BACKGROUND: The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its 16 programs and focus areas cover a range of global health issues including neglected tropical diseases, infectious diseases, vaccines, field epidemiology, public health informatics, health workforce development, and global health ethics. All our programs have an end goal in sight of eliminating diseases and protecting the health of populations. The Task Force for Global Health was recognized for its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering with the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world's largest award of its kind. The Task Force is ranked among the largest nonprofits in the United States due to in-kind contributions of medicines and vaccines from major pharmaceutical companies valued at billions of dollars annually.

TEPHINET BACKGROUND: The principal mission of the TEPHINET is to strengthen international public health capacity through initiating, supporting, and networking of field-based training programs that enhance competencies in applied epidemiology and public health practice. In addition to this mission, TEPHINET provides administrative and management support to many international public health projects, some of which are related to the field epidemiology training programs.
