Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Assistance Team Lead to support a Vaccine Communication and Education Support (VCES) project at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role will work on public health projects focused on increasing vaccine confidence, demand, and uptake across U.S. state and local jurisdictions and through CDC-funded partners. The Team Lead will oversee deliverables and staff, work with key stakeholders/partners, and provide strategic direction for various technical assistance activities.

Responsibilities

Develop technical assistance, training, communication, and partnership plans and associated key performance metrics

Support the development, adaptation, creation, testing, and dissemination/delivery of training content and resources, communication products, community engagement tools, and messages to different audiences utilizing various formats

Conduct learning needs assessments to inform training content and develop tailored training exercises (e.g., training breakout sessions)

Coordinate efforts between public health agencies/departments, subject matter experts, partners, stakeholders, and the project ensuring project goals are being met

Provide technical assistance to internal and external partners

Develop and/or re-design printed, digital and social media, and multi-media materials that educate priority populations

Translate complex health information into evidence based messages for a variety of audiences applying the principles of plain language and emergency/crisis and risk communication

Conduct and apply findings from literature searches and environmental scans

Train and mentor junior staff

Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

Required Experience

6 – 8 years’ work experience in health communication, public health, social marketing, or related fields pertaining to chronic disease, vaccine- preventable disease, infectious disease, population and community health or healthcare services quality improvement required

Experience working with immunization or vaccine initiatives strongly preferred

Experience working with health departments and partners strongly preferred

Experience delivering training and technical assistance in a virtual environment

Ability to analyze and interpret public health and related data

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and meet multiple tight deadlines

Well-versed in Microsoft Office products

Excellent organizational skills

Strong critical and creative thinker

Ability to translate and disseminate scientific information across a variety of platforms

Ability to research and evaluate communication research studies, strategies, and projects

Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Previous experience working at CDC or in public health preferred

Ability to obtain government clearance.

Education and Training

Master’s degree in public health, communications, marketing, or other relevant field

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
