Overview

Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role

We are seeking a Health Communications Specialist II to support our Federal Government customer.

This is a hybrid role that will include working both remotely and onsite at the Federal Government customer campus in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Produce credible first drafts, announcements, and author internal announcements, and develop podcast scripts.
  • Document and manage multiple projects, promotion plans, and monitor and draft responses for functional email boxes using existing software such as email, MS Teams, SharePoint, Visible Thread, Adobe Campaign, and document and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Document and manage multiple promotional projects.
  • Work with Broadcast Studio and other technical SMEs to produce podcasts and other clear communication and promotional products.
  • Work with technical SMEs to produce well-run events and trainings; this includes visitor management entry and room scheduling, as well as meeting facilitation (monitoring and posting information in chat during live sessions) and staff POC for in-person events.
  • Document and track use of metrics from multiple projects.
  • Submit web tickets and execute changes to both internet and intranet.
  • Participate in the Post-Award and Programmatic Contract Closeout Meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to plan, develop, and write public health communication materials for multiple topic areas.
  • Develop and manage spreadsheets and reporting tools as needed to monitor and report progress.
  • Monitor mailboxes and respond to inquiries about programs and projects.
  • Assist with meeting logistics activities to ensure the team is prepared for meetings, training sessions, conferences, and other programmatic meetings.
  • Provide visual displays and written content for website.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with team to update the content.
  • Maintain mailbox by responding to inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain the listserv for disseminating information to subscribers.
  • Develop monthly announcement content for upcoming sessions.
  • Assist with visitor registration to ensure stakeholders, the public, and other guests can attend sessions.
  • Compose content for the Website and YouTube products, including updating the Web with new information.
  • Coordinate with social media, IPTV, and Web and Broadcast teams within to consolidate viewership metrics and ensure all products are delivered through appropriate media channels.
  • Attend rehearsals to ensure communications products are properly prepared for live sessions.
  • Prepare conference summary report to include recommendations.
  • Oversee social media sites during live sessions.
  • Develop meeting and conference materials, including announcements.
  • Assist the conference staff on-site at the conference with registration duties, monitoring breakout sessions and reporting technical issues that may arise.
  • Registration duties include: Checking in conference attendees at the registration counter and giving them conference materials. Answering general questions about conference schedule and breakout session locations.
  • Monitoring breakout sessions include: Reporting audio or visual issues during a session to conference staff. Reporting room condition or issues in breakout session (i.e. too cold, too hot, spills on the floor, etc.) Record breakout session head counts. Assist moderators with keeping time for each presentation in the breakout session.
  • Assist with the development of social media content and manage social media profiles.
  • Manage social media profiles by updating profile pictures, posting content according to schedules provided by conference staff and reposting content approved by conference staff.
  • Circulate conference announcements and marketing content through email and announcement distribution system.
  • Assist conference staff during the program development and planning phases using health communication and marketing best practices.

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience that includes producing first drafts, authoring announcements, and developing podcast scripts, preferably in public health.
  • Experience with planning and handling logistics for activities.
  • Experience with health communication and marketing best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to plan, develop, and write public health communication materials.
  • Experience working with Broadcast Studio and technical SMEs to produce podcasts.
  • Proficiency in software such as Visible Thread, Adobe Campaign and Microsoft Office and using it to document and manage multiple projects, promotion plans, and monitor and draft responses for functional email boxes.
  • Experience assisting with the development of social media content and managing social media profiles, updating profile pictures, posting content, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative team environment.
  • Previous experience supporting the Federal Government preferred.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications (journalism, advertising, public relations), English (writing/editing), public health or related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
