Position Description: The Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation at the Durham VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Project Coordinator who will oversee day to day management of VA research studies at our health services research center, Durham ADAPT.

Job Description: The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management of studies related to policy evaluation, including survey methods, quantitative methods and qualitative and mixed methods. The Coordinator will participate in all activities of a multi-disciplinary research team, including stakeholder engagement with Veterans, family caregivers and operational partners. The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be implementing project management and study workflow tracking for projects, as well as coordinating communications. The Coordinator will be expected to effectively communicate with the study team regarding project productivity, timeliness, and deadlines relevant to project protocols, and with external funders and collaborators. Finally, the Coordinator will monitor activities and quality of work on projects, coordinate study team meetings; conduct literature reviews; prepare reports, presentations and regulatory documents; and provide overall principal investigator support.

Examples of roles of a Project Coordinator include: 1) Facilitate study meetings and coordination of tasks among study team members 2) Monitor procedures for recruitment, screening, assessments, and intervention delivery 3) Maintain IRB approval and other regulatory requirements 4) Conduct and oversee data collection, data entry, data management, and data cleaning for projects 5) Interact with stakeholder groups including Veterans, operational partners, and clinical providers 6) Work with Principal Investigators to conduct literature reviews and disseminate research findings through written reports and manuscripts

Position: Project Coordinator, The Center of Innovation for Accelerating Discovery and Practice Transformation at the VA Durham Healthcare System, Durham, North Carolina. Full-time. GS-11, salary commensurate with experience, begins at $67,180. Benefits included. This position is anticipated to be an in-person position, with tele-working arrangements that will depend on phase of COVID-19 outbreak and local orders.

Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in allied health science field with five years of related experience; or Master’s degree in allied health science field with two years of related experience. Candidates with degrees in public health, health services research, epidemiology, psychology, health sciences (or related field) and experience in research in healthcare-related settings will be considered. Knowledge and skills in project management, familiarity with IRB and research regulations, and willingness to learn and work collaboratively are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and virtual meeting platforms preferred. Must be highly motivated, organized, and autonomous with strong skills in multi-tasking and record- keeping and have excellent interpersonal skills. U.S. citizenship is required.
