Some of the current research projects include a multisite clinical trial aimed at lifestyle change to reverse the metabolic syndrome, a faith-based clustered randomized trial targeting hypertension, a 27-year longitudinal epidemiologic study of women’s health, and a P50 NIH Center for Multiple Chronic Diseases Associated with Health Disparities). The Section of Biostatistics and Epidemiology provides analytic, statistical, and data management support to investigators within the Department.
