Position Description: The Department of Population Health and Pathobiology at North Carolina State University has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Research Associate with a desire to support research with an impact in the areas of COVID-19, healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial resistance, and disease surveillance.

Primary duties of the Research Associate include, but are not limited to the following: Independently support, coordinate, and/or execute research activities under the direction of the principal investigator; Contribute to the development of scientific manuscripts, presentations, and reports; Participate in the preparation of grant proposals; Track, analyze, and report on the progress and status of projects and other program activities.

Qualifications: Relevant Master’s degree, or relevant Bachelor’s and 3 or more years of relevant experience, relevant independent experience and education.

Other Required Qualifications: Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a team.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health or related field; Experience with data collection and/or data management; Experience with SAS, R, or comparable statistical software
