Position Description: The Division of Population Health Data (DPHD) is responsible for analytic and outreach services within the Office of Family Health Services (OFHS), including epidemiological activities regarding the collection, monitoring, analysis and interpretation of data, and program evaluation regarding programmatic data-informed decision-making and needs assessment activities. The DPHD seeks a qualified candidates to serve as Community Health Epidemiology Regional Coordinators. The selected candidates will be responsible for carrying out investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities within the Community Health Epidemiology Unit. This position will serve as a liaison to an assigned Health Region for technical, epidemiologic and statistical analyses, and health planning support. This position will work with district-level Community Health Epidemiologists to coordinate qualitative and quantitative data support, efforts to improve data collection for hard-to-reach populations, interpreting program policies and procedures, providing training, monitoring and reviewing data collection/analysis methods for accuracy and consistency, and serving as a conduit for bidirectional data flows between Local Health Districts and Central Office.

This is a restricted position, which is soley funded by the CDC Public Health Workforce Grant for a period ending June 30, 2023. The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date. Employment is contingent on the continued availability of grant funds.

Qualifications: inimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of the cause, transmission, treatment and prevention of diseases and conditions of public health importance. Considerable knowledge of methods of public health surveillance. Experience with biostatistics, analysis and interpretation of data and data management techniques. Working knowledge of statistical software packages (SAS, R, or STATA) and graphical software (ArcGIS or Tableau). Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrate ability to collect, quality analyze, interpret and present statistical data. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with health care professionals and the general public. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with advanced course work in public health, science or social science with a concenteration in epidemiology, biostatistics or related field, equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience (Preferred Master’s Degree). Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others either in a supervisory or project management capacity.
