Work with the Enhancing Reviews and Surveillance to Eliminate Maternal Mortality (ERASE MM) program team to ensure complete and accurate record abstraction and entry. Correspond with record owners across Pennsylvania. The ERASE MM program collects records from hospitals, clinics, coroners/medical examiners, police, department of transportation, clinics; to collect data on pregnancy associated deaths and request records for review. Perform a comprehensive review of all record types. Abstract demographic, diagnostic, clinical, epidemiologic, and administrative data from all records into a computerized case record (Maternal Mortality Review Information Application) following defined procedures, including case summaries. Act as a liaison between the ERASE MM Program and area facilities, working toward the establishment of remote access to medical records. Generates and compiles reports as necessary. Maintains confidentiality of all records.
Job Description:
This position will use a variety of data sources to create de-identified summaries of the pertinent medical history and events surrounding the deaths of Pennsylvania residents that were pregnant or had been pregnant in the year prior to their death.
