Position Description: The major duties and responsibilities include: •Advising staff and leadership on the statistical design and implementation of operational project related to HAB programs and policies. •Advising staff and leadership on the development and implementation of data management plans as well as provides statistical consultation to support program analyses and program evaluations. •Designing and conducting data management activities including data cleaning and preparation of standard reports. •Responding to data and analytic/statistical requests from HAB's internal and external stakeholders. •Identifying, designing and conducting analyses of program data, using pertinent other data from a variety of sources as appropriate, to identify trends, respond to queries, inform analyses of existing and prosed HAB-related policies, strengthen HAB program and performance management and advance HAB's mission. •Interpreting results for senior management.

Qualifications: To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service.

MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.

Examples of minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-12 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis: Using statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, etc.) to handle large data set manipulations and analyses of public health data; OR Using data management software such as (e.g. SQL, Microsoft Access, etc.) to process, manipulate, interpret, or analyze data sets; OR Performing statistical data collection requirements activities, such as preparing, processing, and coordinating ad hoc and standing collection requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.

Organization Description: The Division of Policy and Data (DPD) serves as the Bureau’s principal source of RWHAP program data collection and evaluation and the focal point for coordination of clinical quality and program performance activities, policy analysis, and development of policy guidance. The DPD consists of four branches: Policy Development Branch, Data Management and Analysis Branch, Evaluation, Analysis and Dissemination Branch, and Clinical and Quality Branch.
