The center’s current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. The center is at work locally, nationally, and internationally with public and private partners to improve health and well-being.
The Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health, within GHPC, was created in partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The Center of Excellence employs a three?pronged focus on research, policy, and practice, and is engaged in providing: workforce development through technical assistance and training to build the capacity of the state’s behavioral health workforce; research and evaluation to monitor and assess behavioral health services for providers and state agencies to measure program effectiveness; and consultative research and policy analysis services for local, state, and national partners focusing on financing structures and service delivery opportunities for improving the behavioral health System of Care.

The administrative specialist provides and manages administrative support for the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health, providing support to team leads, senior research associates, research associates, communications and marketing staff, external consultants, and sub- contractors. This position reports directly to the senior advisor and/or senior research associate. The position works closely with internal staff as well as external consultants and clients.
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO • Direct meeting and conference logistics including securing event location, soliciting food and other vendor quotes as needed, and ensuring that meetings are adequately staffed • Assist provider agencies in branding and messaging • Develop and recommend policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal administrative operations • Manage and coordinate property control processes related to office equipment, office supplies, and other areas as needed • May supervise administrative support staff including senior administrative coordinator, administrative assistant, student assistants, and temporary staff • Manage the travel request process ensuring that all travel requests are processed in a timely manner • Provide support to the COE Leadership Management Team related to specific projects. This support may include making travel arrangements, and scheduling participant and project team meetings and interviews.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO MAKE YOU SHINE • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to manage, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks. • Computer proficiency, including the ability to use Microsoft Office. • Event planning and coordination experience. • Supervisory, employee training, and development skills. • Project management experience.
