GHPC is seeking (2) senior research associate (SRA) to join the already awesome team taking the GHPC to the next level of excellence and global achievements!

The center’s current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. ABOUT THIS POSITION The SRAs are members of multiple research, technical assistance, policy development, and programmatic teams. SRAs provide leadership across content areas, and will have a lead role in overseeing the daily operations and logistics of the team’s work. SRAs also manage the daily operations of grants and contracts within the organization’s matrix structure, actively support the success of staff and the team, develop new business, and develop/maintain relationships across a spectrum of partners. These SRA’s will work primarily in the areas of program evaluation, including evaluation planning, capacity building, implementation, reporting, and technical assistance on the Population and Global Health Team.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO • Leads the design and implementation of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods evaluation and research. • Manages projects and project teams by providing leadership and administration for contracts and grants. • Leads the implementation of evaluation projects of varying size and complexity, including planning, organizing, and managing resources (staffing, budgets, project deliverables, relationships) to achieve specific project goals and objectives. • Participates in development of the research portfolio. • Guides program partners through all stages of evaluation planning and implementation. • Collects, links, and analyzes data (quantitative and qualitative). • Translates data and findings for diverse stakeholder groups. • Creates data visualizations. • Manages the development of products, such as policy papers, literature reviews, research papers, posters, presentations, briefs, and client reports. • Builds and manages relationships with clients and external stakeholders, including state agencies, community groups, and academic partners. • Navigates complex relationships between key funding and policy stakeholders relevant to work. • Facilitates group meetings to ensure that meeting goals and objectives are met. • May supervise and/or mentor staff and student employees. • Identifies funding opportunities and leads grant writing teams. • Represents GHPC at national conferences and events.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO MAKE YOU SHINE • Broad experience in evaluation design and implementation. • Knowledge of how to integrate health equity into evaluation design. • Qualitative and quantitative analytic skills. • Data collection and database management skills. • Strong organizational and managerial skills, with ability to pay attention to detail while also addressing the big picture. • Demonstrated strategic thinking and adaptive leadership ability with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. • Collaborative leadership style with ability to make important decisions when needed. • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and manage work in new research and policy areas. • Quick, analytical thinker and able to effectively monitor, synthesize, translate, and summarize complex research, policy, legislative, and regulatory topics for use by internal and external stakeholders. • Strong project management skills. • Ability to multitask and exhibit excellent customer service. • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to self-direct work. • Ability to support junior staff and student employees in their professional growth and development. • Effective time management and organizational skills. • Demonstrated participatory and team- oriented style of interaction. • Networking and group facilitation skills, including in a virtual context (e.g., via Zoom).

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED Ph.D. in health policy, health management, psychology, social work, public health, public policy, or a related field and two years of experience; OR a master’s degree and five years’ experience; OR a bachelor’s degree and seven years’ experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Extensive experience in mixed methods evaluation and research, working with stakeholder groups, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom). Knowledge of human subjects research guidelines. Proficiency with Qualtrics, NVIVO, Tableau (data visualization) and a minimum of one statistical package (SAS, SPSS, Stata, R) are preferred.
