Position Description: |
POSITION SUMMARY: Collaborates with research team to construct datasets for analyses and perform innovative data analysis using statistical software packages. Assists investigators in the design of epidemiological and health services research studies. May be required to assume major responsibility on large projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):
1. Performs data management and/or data analysis for investigators using a variety of data (administrative claims data, EHR data) and statistical software packages (SAS or R).
2. Generates results including data visualizations.
3. Advises and assists investigators in the design of epidemiological studies.
4. May function as a statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.
5. Assumes major/exclusive responsibilities on large projects.
6. May train/supervise Statistical Data Analyst level staff.
7. Assists investigators by preparing publication quality material including sections for manuscripts or grants.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s preferred in Statistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, or related field. Experience in biomedical and/or clinical studies desirable.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Expert knowledge base and experience with SAS or R and high degree of proficiency in data analysis and data management. 2. Skills and demonstrated success in designing and executing appropriate statistical data analyses. 3. Capable of working independently. 4. Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 5. Demonstrated organization skills. 6. Demonstrated ability to think critically and prioritize time-sensitive deliverables.

Qualifications: |
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Epidemiology). 3 to 5 years related experience
