Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role

We are seeking a Program Analyst III to support the Epidemiology Research and Innovations Branch (ERIB) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ERIB supports and conducts research and other activities that address knowledge gaps critical to the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and other adverse events. This includes the evaluation of novel and existing public health practices and interventions; designing and implementing special studies to fill critical epidemiologic knowledge gaps; developing innovative surveillance strategies; and assessing impact and burden. In support of its mission, the branch also manages critical collaborative partnerships through the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Healthcare Associated Infections Community Interface Activity (HAIC). 

The Program Analyst III is a hybrid remote role that requires some onsite work at an EIP HAIC site in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex management, operations and administrative duties requiring attention to detail and analysis.
  • Coordinates meetings, training sessions, conferences, and regular conference calls related to program or project activities as needed. 
  • Performs reviews of medical records and other sources of clinical and epidemiological data.
  • Collects data from medical records and other data sources using standardized case report/data collection forms.
  • Enters data into CDC or EIP site-developed databases. Data may be entered and maintained using a variety of database platforms, including but not limited to .NET, REDCap, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Assists in developing and implementing data quality assurance activities, such as medical record re- abstraction. 
  • Assists in developing and maintaining operational protocols and other project documents and materials as required and participates in meetings, conferences, trainings, and site visits as needed. 
  • Coordinates various activities to provide grants management support.
  • Maintains electronic records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports and other materials as appropriate.
  • Provides technical assistance to EIP HAIC recipients.   
  • Monitors and performs day-to-day operations of the program to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Complies with federal and state/local information security policies and procedures and established policies and procedures for transmitting data to CDC. Direct personal identifiers (e.g., name, medical record number, street address, etc.) are not transmitted from EIP sites to CDC.
  • Organizes and maintains routine communications with CDC and EIP Technical Monitors through monthly project calls and meetings.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience reviewing and abstracting data from medical records (including electronic health records) is required.
  • Experience entering and maintaining data using a variety of database platforms, such as .NET, REDCap, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Training or experience in microbiology or medical terminology is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan office activities such as meetings (in person and virtual), and conferences.
  • Experience developing, processing, and tracking a variety of records and reports.
  • Experience developing and implementing data quality assurance activities preferred.
  • Previous experience providing technical assistance to CDC partners and stakeholders preferred.
  • Previous experience with CDC programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities preferred. 
  • Ability to work remotely and onsite in Portland, Oregon.
  • Ability to travel to attend meetings.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Advanced organizational and documentation-related skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, and database management skills preferred.

Education and Training

  • Master’s degree plus 1-2 years of relevant work experience in relevant public health, clinical research, or related field required.

Minimum Salary: USD $85,000/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $92,000/Yr. Salary Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range offered for this position is USD $85,000/Yr to USD $92,000/Yr. Tanaq considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
