Position Description: |
The Infection Control, Healthcare, & Environmental Epidemiology (ICHEE) Section within the Communicable Disease Service (CDS) is hiring an Antimicrobial Resistance (AR) Response Epidemiologist (Research Scientist 2). The Antimicrobial Resistance Response Epidemiologist (Research Scientist 2) will be responsible for coordinating multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) surveillance, response, and containment activities in healthcare facilities throughout New Jersey such as acute care, long-term care, and outpatient facilities. They will assist with the development, preparation, review and distribution of procedures and protocols for MDRO investigations. The AR Response Epidemiologist (Research Scientist 2) will analyze data gathered during outbreak investigations using appropriate statistical methods and computer software. They will prepare and distributes reports and feedback to healthcare providers, local health departments and other internal partners in ICHEE and CDS. Lastly, they will provide guidance to CDS, regulatory agencies, local health departments, health care providers, hospitals and others during MDRO outbreaks.

Qualifications: |
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in a discipline appropriate to the position. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full-time experience in a field appropriate to the position. NOTE: A Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the position may be substituted for two (2) years of experience indicated above.
