Position Description: |
Beyond Bridges is a transformative initiative to galvanize the health and wellness of diverse populations across the NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn community, creating a dynamic model for community-wide health improvement in Sunset Park that will bridge healthcare delivery and community drivers of health to improve population health and health equity. NYU Langone Health seeks qualified candidates for an experienced senior data analyst position to support the Beyond Bridges Initiative. The Senior Data Analyst will be a core member of the Brooklyn Data Station, an innovative team of analysts and epidemiologists supporting researchers and clinicians in turning data into action. This candidate will play an integral role in providing quantitative analyses to advance implementation and evaluation of the Beyond Bridges initiative, working closely with community partners, as well as research and clinical teams at NYU Langone Health and experts nationally as needed. This work will include but not be limited to compiling, synthesizing, and displaying a large array of clinical and community data to monitor trends and meet community data needs, collaborating with partners to design evaluation components, and analyzing, interpreting and disseminating data to inform program efforts. This will include working with a variety of data s! ources and data types to develop a centralized shared resource, including claims databases, large networks of electronic health records (EHRs), as well as large administrative datasets containing information on the social, economic and physical environments of Brooklyn and other geographic areas. We are seeking a qualified Senior Data Analyst to work with faculty and staff from across NYU Langone Health and Family Health Centers to guide the evaluation of this innovative initiative. The individual will be positioned to contribute to scientific and analytics efforts, while also teaming up with clinicians, operations and administrative teams to develop innovative and impactful research
Job Responsibilities: 1. Build and engineer workflows to collect, store, clean and process structured as well as unstructured data, verify their integrity and appropriateness for specific business processes and analytics systems 2. Guide and support the harmonization of data elements, study designs, data processes and analysis. Maintain appropriate metadata to document and share. 3. Work with large, complex and noisy clinical datasets for solving challenging problems in the healthcare domain 4. Collaborate with faculty, staff and community partners to develop user-driven data visualizations and reports to monitor progress 5. Prepare and present results, reports, both oral and written, to a variety of audiences, concerning processes, models, evaluation, and impact 6. Lead and support scientific manuscript preparation

Qualifications: |
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Biomedical or Clinical Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Mathematics or similar field) and 3 years of experience in data science. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, SQL) and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau). Familiarity with medical coding classification systems (ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED) etc). Demonstrated experience with data standards and ETL. Knowledge of databases (Relational / SQL, NOSQL - MongoDB etc.). Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences. Proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin preferred. Familiarity with population and clinical health metrics. Prior experience working with electronic health record data.
